The FLASCO Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization, developed to advocate and empower all Floridian’s impacted by cancer.

The FLASCO Foundation strives to provide. empowerment, vitality and quality of life for every Floridian affected by cancer.

MISSION

The FLASCO Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology provides Florida cancer patients, families, caregivers and survivors, access to the best educational, social, financial and emotional support services available. The FLASCO Foundation leverages its statewide footprint to forge robust collaborations to reach those in need.

FUNDING

The FLASCO Foundation has been funded by the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology, Inc., individual donations, purchases through Amazon Smile, small fund raising events, and memorial and birthday donations.


Flasco Foundation Grants

Established in 2012, the FLASCO Foundation provides funding for partner organizations that offer a wide range of social services and compassionate assistance to those who are faced with the challenges of this disease. We are committed to helping as many Floridians as possible who are in need of vital services, care and support now and in the future. In support of its Mission, each year the FLASCO Foundation, Inc. offers grants to Florida organizations providing outreach and support to Florida’s cancer patients . The purpose of this Grant Program is to address the needs of those fighting cancer in Florida.

Grant Recipients Include:

  • AdventHealth Waterman Fd, Inc. (Tavares): The Foundation provides Cancer Patient Unmet needs assistance for rent/mortgages, utilities, meals, medical and transportation.
  • Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope, Inc, (Palm Beach): Works to meet the numerous but frequently overlooked needs of cancer patients, particularly the low-income by:  Emergency financial assistance to prevent homelessness, car repossession and the loss of essential utilities such as electric and water; travel expenses, meal assistance (gift cards to grocery stores), and other health and wellness related items specific to the needs of cancer patients.
  • Look Good Feel Better Fd (Restricted to Florida patients): A free, nonmedical, brand-neutral charitable program dedicated to improving the physical and emotional well-being of people undergoing cancer treatment through confidence-boosting workshops and online sessions.
  • Lee Health Fd/Lee Health Regional Cancer Center (Ft. Myers): Dental Assistance for Head & Neck Cancer Patients SW Florida who are unemployed, uninsured, or underinsured.  Funds are used to pay for extractions to prevent delay in cancer care. 
  • North Broward Hospital Dist dba BrowardHealth (Ft. Lauderdale): Provides co-payment assistance associated with care  to cancer patients living in Broward County who are underserved, uninsured or underinsured  and Medicaid patients that have no other source of income, and patients on unpaid leave due to treatment. 
  • Putnam First Cancer Fund: Putnam First Cancer Fund -Putnam County, Florida residents diagnosed with cancer with no insurance, or who are underinsured.  Assistance is for quality of life basic living costs such as transportation for treatment, rent/mortgage, utilities, phone and home sitting service.
  • Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Fd (Jacksonville): Funds to support fuel cards for patient families-Pediatric oncology patients ages 0-22 years and their families
  • We Care Jacksonville, Inc., dba We CareJax (Jacksonville): Financial Assistant to Uninsured Adult cancer patient residents of Duval County through purchasing items such as food, clothing, and services such as housecleaning, transportation to appointments, and referrals to supportive care.
  • Women’s Center of Jacksonville: Bosom Buddies programWomen age 18 and older with breast cancer residing in the service area of Duval, Baker and/or Nassau counties in NE Florida with the target being women in active treatment who need assistance for food and transportation (gas cards or bus passes) and to pay rent/mortgage
  • Women with Purpose (Clearwater): Give Where You Live for citizens within the Tampa Bay area.  Services provided include assistance with rent/mortgage, utilities car payments, insurance, gas cards and gift cards to help with personal items not covered by food stamps.
